Choose the channel a campaign goes on

Understand whom each channel reaches and which allowance it uses, and when “Cheapest that reaches” is the right choice.

  1. 01

Pick the channel in the editor

The “Channel” field is the second field of a new campaign or a draft. You can change it at any time before the campaign is sent.

  2. 02

    Email

“Email” goes to every client in the audience who has an email address and has not unsubscribed. Emails count against your plan’s monthly email allowance.

  3. 03

    Telegram

“Telegram” reaches only clients who have started your own Telegram bot, and nobody else. It costs nothing. Campaigns never go through @Setvos_bot, so connect your own bot on Integrations › Messaging first. A message that cannot be delivered on Telegram is not sent as a text instead.

  4. 04

    WhatsApp

“WhatsApp” goes to clients with a phone number, except those marked “Opt out of messages”. Connect WhatsApp on Integrations › Messaging first. Meta bills these messages to your own WhatsApp Business account.

A campaign message that WhatsApp refuses, for example because the number has no WhatsApp, is not sent again as an SMS, so it never uses your SMS allowance.

  5. 05

    SMS

“SMS” goes to clients with a phone number, except those marked “Opt out of messages”. Texts sent through Setvos use your SMS allowance, each one as many SMS as the parts it goes out in. If you connected your own SMS gateway on Integrations › SMS gateways, campaign texts go through it and are on your bill, the Setvos allowance never limits the campaign, and a text your gateway refuses is not re-sent through Setvos.

  6. 06

    Cheapest that reaches

“Cheapest that reaches” decides for each client. A client who has started your bot gets Telegram. Otherwise a client with a phone number gets WhatsApp if you connected it, or SMS if you did not. A client with no phone, or who asked not to be texted, gets the email instead when they have an address.

  7. 07

    Check the split before sending

“Estimated reach” lists how many clients each channel will carry, how many cannot be reached at all, and how many SMS of your allowance the send will use.

Common questions

Why do some clients get an email when I chose “Cheapest that reaches”?

Because no text channel can reach them: they have no phone number or asked not to be texted. Email is a separate consent, so they get the email if they have an address and have not unsubscribed.

Which channel does a campaign use on the phone?

The same as on the web, in the order the server runs: Email; “Cheapest that reaches” — the salon’s own Telegram bot, then WhatsApp if connected or SMS, then email for clients with no phone; Telegram, through the salon’s own bot only, never @Setvos_bot; WhatsApp, with an approved template only; and SMS. For a text, the counter shows the characters and SMS per client: once the text has a Cyrillic letter, a segment holds 70 characters instead of 160, and the booking link and the stop line are counted as they go out.
