Messaging (SMS) · Overview
Messaging: texts, automatic messages and the message log
Text one client or a group, switch on the messages Setvos sends for you, and check what went out, on which account, and why anything did not.
What this screen is for
Messaging (SMS) is where you text clients yourself, one at a time or as a group, switch on the automatic messages Setvos sends for you, and read the log of everything sent and received. Booking confirmations, reminders and cancellations are sent by Bookings, and they appear in the same log.
Texts this month
The card at the top counts this month’s texts by whose account carried them. “Your gateway” is texts on your own SMS gateway, on your bill. “Setvos allowance” is what texts on ours used of your monthly allowance: one for each booking text or text you typed, one per part for a broadcast or campaign text. “Fallbacks” is texts that went on ours because your gateway refused them. The link under the card opens your SMS gateways on Integrations › SMS gateways.
The four tabs
- “Compose”: text one client.
- “Broadcast”: text everyone with a tag or in a saved audience.
- “Automations”: quiet hours, the @Setvos_bot switch and the automatic messages.
- “History”: every message sent or received, newest first, with the reason when one did not go.
“Compose” and “Broadcast” appear only if your role allows sending messages.
Which channel reaches a client
Reminders and automatic messages take the cheapest channel that works for each client: Telegram, which costs nothing, when the client has linked your bot, or @Setvos_bot for booking confirmations, reminders and cancellations; then WhatsApp or Viber if you connected them; then SMS. The overdue-invoice and deal-stage messages go by email unless you choose otherwise. A text you write in “Compose” or “Broadcast” goes as an SMS.
What to do first
Decide whether texts should go through your own SMS gateway or on the Setvos allowance. Set quiet hours, then switch on the automations you want, starting with one or two, and read what each one says before you turn it on.

Text one client
Send a single SMS to a client from the messaging screen, see straight away whether it went, and stop texting a client who asked you to.
Switch on automatic messages
Turn on the welcome, win-back, birthday, review request, unfinished booking, deal stage, overdue invoice and missed-call messages, and change what each one says.
Check whether a message went out
Find any message in the log, read its status, and understand why one was skipped or failed.
Send texts through your own SMS gateway
Connect TurboSMS, AlphaSMS, SMSClub, Twilio, SMSAPI or seven.io so texts go out under your own sender name, choose which goes first, and let clients’ replies reach you.
Buy or cancel extras: credit packs, module groups and an extra place
Raise a monthly allowance or add a module group in the middle of your term. Extras are paid for by the day to the end of the term, renew with your licence, and one you cancel stays until the renewal.
Campaigns: send an offer or news to a group of your clients
Write one message, choose which clients get it and on which channel, send it now or at a set time, and see what happened.
