Messaging (SMS) · How-to
Text a group of clients at once
Send the same SMS to everyone with a tag or in a saved audience, and see how many were queued and skipped.
Open the Broadcast tab
Open Messaging (SMS) and choose “Broadcast”. The card is “Broadcast to a segment”.
Choose who gets it
Pick a tag under “Segment (tag)”, a saved audience under “Saved audience”, or both. With both, everyone who has the tag or is in the audience gets the text once. Audiences are saved on Campaigns › Audiences.
Write the message
Type the text in “Message”, up to 480 characters. A broadcast is an offer, so every text ends with a short link the client can use to stop your offers. The counter under the box includes that link and shows how many SMS of the Setvos allowance each client’s text counts as: one for every segment a gateway bills, 160 characters in plain Latin letters, é, ü and ñ included, or 70 once there is a Cyrillic letter or another character outside the SMS alphabet.
Send it
Press “Send broadcast”. There is no confirmation step, so read the text first. If the whole broadcast does not fit in what is left of the monthly allowance, nothing is sent and a message says so; on your own SMS gateway the allowance never stops it. Otherwise a note tells you how many texts were queued and how many were skipped, for example because a client has no phone number, asked not to be texted or unsubscribed from your offers.
Know how it goes out
A broadcast goes by SMS. Texts due during your quiet hours wait until the window ends. If you send through your own gateway and it refuses a broadcast text, that text is not re-sent through Setvos.
Common questions
- Should I use a broadcast or a campaign?
Both leave out clients who unsubscribed and add a link to stop your offers. A broadcast is a quick text to a group. A campaign can also go by email, Telegram or WhatsApp, picks the cheapest channel for each client, can be saved, scheduled and duplicated, is checked against your allowance before anything goes out, and reports results, so it suits bigger offers and news better.
- Can I send a broadcast from the phone?
Yes, in Broadcast under Messages: choose a tag or a saved audience and write the text; the counter includes the stop line every broadcast ends with. “Count who gets it” shows who matched, who can receive texts and who is skipped — opted out, unsubscribed or with no phone — before you confirm, with how many texts it counts this month; on your own SMS gateway nothing is counted. If nobody in the audience can receive texts, it cannot be sent.
