Messaging (SMS) · How-to

Check whether a message went out

Find any message in the log, read its status, and understand why one was skipped or failed.

  1. 01

    Open the History tab

Open Messaging (SMS) and choose “History”. “Recent messages” lists the texts, Telegram messages and automatic emails your workspace sent, and the replies clients texted back, newest first, a page at a time. Campaign emails are not listed here; their numbers are on each campaign’s own page.

  2. 02

    Read a row

“To” is the phone number; a Telegram message or an email shows the channel’s name there instead, and a reply shows “From” and the client’s number. “Message” is the text, “Type” what it was, such as “Direct”, “Broadcast”, “Reminder”, “Confirmation”, “Cancellation” or “Reply”, and “When” the time. Automatic messages show as “Direct”, and campaign and broadcast texts as “Broadcast”.

  3. 03

    Read the status

“Sent” went out. “Queued” is waiting to go, for example until quiet hours end. “Received” is a reply from a client. “Skipped” and “Failed” did not go, and the reason is written under the status.

  4. 04

    Understand the reason

    • No phone number or email address on the client.
    • The client asked not to be texted, or unsubscribed from your offers.
    • The client could not be reached on Telegram; an offer is never sent as a text instead.
    • An offer that did not arrive is not sent again as a text.
    • The monthly SMS allowance ran out.
    • No SMS gateway was available.
    • Your gateway refused a campaign text; campaign texts never move to ours.
    • Your gateway may already have sent it, so it was not sent twice.
    • The gateway refused the number.
    • The contact no longer exists, or the message had already been sent to that number.

Any other reason is the gateway’s own words.

  5. 05

    Fix the cause

Add or correct the number on the client’s card, add an SMS pack on Plan & billing when the allowance ran out, or check your gateway’s balance and details on Integrations › SMS gateways.

Common questions

Which account sent a text?

The “Sent on” column says it: your own SMS gateway, by name, or Setvos. When your gateway refused a text or did not answer and Setvos sent it instead, it says that too — only those texts count against your allowance. Other channels show the channel.

Can I see sent messages on the phone?

Yes: Messages opens on History, filtered by type and status. Each row names the client, the type, the channel and the time and, for a text, the account that carried it: your gateway, Setvos, or Setvos because your gateway refused it or did not answer. A failed row says why, and an inbound reply reads “Reply from” and the number. “This month” shows the texts on your gateway, those on Setvos’s allowance and the fallbacks.
