See a period's pay day by day

Lay a pay period out by day to see what each day added to each person's pay, and check it against the run.

  1. 01

    Open the Days tab

Open Payroll › Days and pick the “Month” and the “Part”: “Whole month”, “Advance” or “Remainder”. If that part has a run, its status is shown.

  2. 02

    Read the grid

Each row is a person with a pay scheme, each column a day, and each cell what that day added: salary share, hours, commission or class pay, less unpaid leave. Leave days are marked with their type; days before someone joined or after they left are faded.

  3. 03

    Open a day

Click a cell to see what it was built from: the rota shifts, the time clock entries (with corrections and automatically closed entries flagged), the sales with their rates, the classes and any leave.

  4. 04

    Read the row's end

The last column shows the row's total and the lines that belong to the whole period, such as bonuses, deductions and reference taxes. When nothing has changed since the run was built, the days add up to what the run counted, to the cent.

  5. 05

    Spot changes after approval

When the part's run is approved or paid and today's facts no longer match it (a corrected clock entry, say), the row shows “Differs from the run by …”.

  6. 06

    Use it on a phone

On a narrow screen, pick one person and read their period as a list of days.

Common questions

Can I see payroll days on the phone?

Yes: Days, by person, period and part, with a note when the lines differ from the approved run — for example after a clock entry was corrected. A day shows its shifts, time-clock entries with their corrections, sales, classes and leave.
