Payroll: pay worked out from what actually happened
Build each month's pay from people's pay schemes, hours, sales and leave, check it by day or by month, then approve it and record it as paid.
What payroll does
Setvos works out each payslip from the facts of the period: the pay scheme in force, the days the person was employed, the time clock or the rota, their sales at the till, the classes they ran and approved unpaid leave. It records what you pay; it does not pay anyone or file anything.
The five tabs
Payroll opens on “Overview”. Payroll › Runs lists every run, Payroll › Days lays a period out day by day, Payroll › Periods shows each person month by month, and Payroll › Bonuses & deductions lists every bonus and deduction.
The Overview
The tiles show what this month has accrued so far (what a run would compute today; nothing is saved), the last net pay, wages as a share of the month's takings, and the employer's cost with the next pay day. Below are this month's runs, anyone left out and why, twelve months of gross pay and employer cost, and the team with what each has accrued.
Before the first run
Give each person a pay scheme on the “Compensation” tab of their record. For pay by the hour, commission and class pay, link their record to their login too, and publish the rota or use the time clock. Someone with no pay scheme is left out of a run and named as such.
Who can see it
The payroll screens, the “Compensation” tab and everyone's payslips need a role that includes Payroll: by default, the owner and admins. Staff see only their own approved payslips, under “My payslips” on the time clock screen, People › Time clock, which their role must be able to open through People.

Set how someone is paid
Choose a pay scheme for an employee (monthly, hourly, commission, tiered or per class) from a date, and keep every change as history.
Run payroll for a month
Create a draft run for a month, check and adjust its payslips, then approve it and mark it paid.
What a payslip is built from
Know where each line of a payslip comes from (salary days, hours, sales, classes, unpaid leave and reference taxes) so you can check it.
Set the pay cadence and reference taxes
Choose whether you pay once or twice a month, and whether payslips show income tax, the military levy and the employer's ЄСВ.
Link an employee record to a login
Connect a record to the person's Setvos account, so their time clock, payslips, rota shifts and till sales are counted as theirs.
Set up roles and permissions
Use the four ready-made roles or build your own: choose what each role may do in every module and whose records it sees.
