Send Setvos events to your other systems with webhooks

Tell another system when something happens here — a contact added, a deal won, an invoice paid, a booking made — by posting it to an address you choose.

  1. 01

    Create a webhook

In Integrations › API and webhooks, which people with the workspace-settings permission see, press “New webhook”. Enter the “URL” that should receive events and tick the “Events” it needs:

    • a contact added or changed
    • a deal moved to another stage, or won
    • an invoice paid
    • a booking made or cancelled
    • an order paid
  2. 02

    Copy the signing secret

The “Signing secret” is shown once. Every delivery is signed with it in the X-Setvos-Signature header, so your system can check that a message really came from Setvos.

  3. 03

    Send a test

Press the “Send a test” button (the lightning bolt) on the webhook. Your system receives a short test message, which shows the address works.

  4. 04

    Watch the deliveries

“Recent deliveries” shows each one as “Queued”, “Delivered” or “Failed”. A delivery your system does not accept stays “Queued” and is tried again — six attempts in all, over about nine hours — before it is marked “Failed”. After twenty failed attempts in a row the webhook is paused and marked “Paused”; press “Resume” (the play button) once your system is back.

  5. 05

    Pause or remove it

“Pause” (the pause button) stops deliveries until you press “Resume”. “Delete” (the bin) asks first: type the address’s host, such as example.com, to confirm. A deleted webhook and its signing secret cannot be brought back, so pause it if you only need a break.

  6. 06

    Connect Zapier or Make

There is no Setvos app in their directories yet. Use their step that catches a webhook, and add the address it gives you as a new webhook here. The test message carries no record, so to map the fields, make a real change of the kind you ticked — add a test contact, for example.

Common questions

Why was my webhook address refused?

It must be a public http or https address. An address on a private network, or one of Setvos’s own, is refused.

Can I manage webhooks on the phone?

Yes, under Developer: add a webhook, copy its signing secret — shown once — test it, see its deliveries, or delete it after typing to confirm.
