Inventory: questions people ask
Short answers about negative stock, missing products, the products list’s stock, alerts, value and the till.
Common questions
- Can stock go below zero?
No. An adjustment or a transfer that would take a warehouse below zero is refused.
- Why is a product missing from the stock list?
Only active items of type Product are counted. Services and archived products are left out.
- Is the stock on the products list the same as here?
Yes. With Inventory switched on, the “Stock” number in Products is the total on hand across your warehouses, and clicking it brings you here. It is adjusted here, per warehouse, not on the product.
- Who gets the low-stock notification?
Everyone whose role can see inventory, once, until they read it.
- Why is the stock value higher than what I paid?
The dashboard and the “Value” column use your selling prices. What the stock cost you is the average cost.
- Does the till use up stock?
Yes. Products sold at the till leave the warehouse chosen at checkout, and a service with a recipe uses up its products there too; a recipe that finds too little takes what is there rather than stopping the checkout.

Check stock levels and adjust them

Products: one price list for everything you sell
What the catalogue is for, how products and services differ, and where the rest of Setvos reads your prices from.
Take payment for a visit at the till
Close a visit and take its money in one step: add products, apply a membership, a promo code or a discount, split the payment across cash, card, gift card, points or a payment link, and book the client’s next visit.
Set up your services, prices and categories
Add the services you sell with a length, a price and who does them, group them into categories, vary prices by place or person, and choose what clients can book online.
Switch modules on and off
Choose which parts of Setvos this workspace uses. Switching a module off hides it for everyone and never deletes its data.
