Set your hiring stages, scorecard criteria and rejection email

Rename, add, reorder and remove hiring stages, list what interviewers should judge, and choose whether rejected candidates get an email.

  1. 01

    Open the settings

On Recruitment, choose “Recruitment settings” (under ⋯ on a phone). It is there only for a Setvos role that can change Recruitment settings.

  2. 02

    Edit the stages

Under “Hiring stages”, type over a name to rename it, press the cross to remove one, or type a name in “Add stage” and press Enter or the + button to add one; a new stage goes just before Hired. Move a stage with the up and down arrows beside it; Hired always stays last. The number beside a stage counts its active candidates; the cross is greyed out while any candidate sits in the stage, hired or rejected ones included.

  3. 03

Know the two stages that count

The stage that came as Hired records a hire: moving a candidate into it marks them hired, so it cannot be removed. The one that came as Offer feeds the offer accept rate. Both keep working under any name you give them.

  4. 04

    List the scorecard criteria

Under “Scorecard criteria”, type what interviewers should judge in the “+ add” box and press Enter; remove one with its cross. Interviewers see the list when they add a scorecard.

  5. 05

    Choose the rejection email

Under “Automations”, switch on “Rejection email” to send a polite decline to a candidate's email address when they are rejected. It is the only automation in Recruitment. It goes on your booking page’s look, signed with your workspace’s name.

  6. 06

    Save

    Press “Save settings”.

Common questions

Why can’t I remove a stage?

Its cross is greyed out for one of two reasons: candidates are in the stage, hired and rejected ones included, though the number beside it counts only active ones; or it is the Hired stage, which records hires. Move the active candidates on first; a stage that holds hired or rejected candidates stays.

How do I add a step before the hire?

Type its name in “Add stage”: a new stage goes just before Hired, which always stays last. Move it into place with the up and down arrows, then press “Save settings”.

Can I change recruitment settings on the phone?

Yes, with the recruitment settings permission: the hiring stages, Hired staying last and a stage with candidates in it kept; the scorecard criteria; and the rejection email.
