Remove someone, transfer ownership or leave a workspace

Take away a person’s access when they leave, hand the workspace over to a new owner, or leave a workspace yourself.

  1. 01

    Remove a member

In Settings › Members, open the person, press “Remove from workspace” and then “Remove”. They lose access immediately; the records they worked on stay in the workspace. Only an owner can remove another owner.

  2. 02

    Transfer ownership

Only an owner sees “Transfer ownership” at the foot of another member’s details. Type the workspace’s name and press “Transfer ownership” again to confirm. The other person becomes the owner and you stay on as an admin; you cannot undo it yourself.

  3. 03

    Leave a workspace yourself

Open the menu with your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose “Leave workspace” and then “Leave”. The last owner cannot leave before transferring ownership.

  4. 04

    Free the seat

Someone who has been removed no longer counts against your licence. To pay for fewer employees, choose a smaller team size in the plan picker on Plan & billing and press “Apply this licence”: it takes effect at your next renewal if your team fits it by then; otherwise the licence keeps its size and the owners are told.

Common questions

What happens to their clients and bookings?

Nothing: the records stay in the workspace. Reassign their open tasks and deals to someone else.

Can I remove a member on the phone?

Yes, from the member’s sheet: they lose access at once, and their records stay. The owner can also transfer ownership there, after typing the workspace’s name, and stays on as an admin.
