Members, roles and teams · How-to
Group people into teams
Create teams so that a role limited to its own team sees the whole team’s work, and so invitations can place newcomers straight into them.
Create a team
Open Settings › Teams and press “New team”.
Name it and add members
Give it a “Name”, tick the “Members” who belong to it and press “Create team”. A person can be in more than one team.
Edit or delete it
“Edit” changes the name or the members, and “Save changes” keeps them. The bin button deletes the team straight away. Deleting a team removes nobody from the workspace.
Use it with roles
In Settings › Roles & permissions, set a role’s record scope to “Own team”. The people with that role then see their own records and those of everyone in their teams.
Common questions
- Does a team change what someone is allowed to do?
No — roles decide that. A team only widens whose records a person sees when their role’s scope is “Own team”.
- Can I manage teams on the phone?
Yes: Teams lists each team with its members, and a team’s sheet takes a name and the members. A member’s own sheet also changes which teams they are in.
