Loyalty: common questions
Expiry, earning on sales paid with points, tiers, merging clients, turning the program off and buying online.
Common questions
- Do points expire?
Only if you set “Expire after (months)” on the “Program” tab. Points then lapse that many months after the client’s last points activity, and the client is sent a reminder beforehand.
- Does a client earn points on what they paid with points?
No. Points are earned on money that was actually paid, so a sale paid partly with points earns only on the rest.
- Does a higher tier earn more points?
No. Every tier earns at the same rate. A tier can instead get a discount at the till, set under “Tier perks at checkout”.
- What happens to points when I merge two clients?
Their points and lifetime spend are added together on the client you keep, and the history of both moves with them.
- What happens if I turn the program off?
Clients stop earning points and every balance is kept. Tiers give no discount at the till, and referral rewards wait until the program is back on. Clients can still spend the points they hold. Points do not age while it is off: when you turn it back on, each client’s expiry clock moves on by the length of the pause, and nobody’s points lapse before they have been reminded. Turn “Program active” back on and earning resumes from then on.
- Why can’t points be used at the till?
Check the “Redemption value” on the “Program” tab: with a value of 0, points are worth nothing and cannot be spent. Points can also only pay for as much as is still due.
- Can clients buy gift cards and memberships online?
Yes. Clients can buy both in their online account, and when “Sell gift cards on your booking page” is on, anyone can buy a gift card on your booking page without an account. Both need an online payment gateway connected. Nothing is issued or activated until the payment arrives: a gift card shows “Awaiting payment” until then, and the buyer is emailed its code and a printable voucher once it is paid. With LiqPay or Fondy, a client buying a membership can also choose to have it renew on their card.

Loyalty: points, gift cards, memberships and referrals
Reward clients who come back with points and tiers, sell gift cards and membership packs, and thank clients who bring you new ones.
Set up the points program
Choose how many points clients earn, what a point is worth, the tiers and their discounts, the referral reward, whether points expire and whether you sell gift cards on your booking page.
Issue and redeem gift cards
Create a gift card with a code and a balance, sell cards on your booking page, take payment with them at the till or by hand, and follow the balance down to zero.
Sell a membership and keep it running
Subscribe a client to a plan, activate it when they pay, use it at the till, renew it by link or on the client’s card, and give back a missed visit.
Merge duplicate clients
Find clients who were entered more than once, choose the card to keep, and fold the others into it with their bookings, invoices, points, files and history.
Take online payments by card or by bank transfer
Connect a card gateway or add your payment details so clients can pay invoices, deposits and orders online — by card, or by bank transfer with one payment code for everyone — choose how they pay, mark transfers paid and let monobank pay tips to your staff.
