See approved leave on the rota

Approved leave takes a person off the bookings rota by itself, and the rota will not let anyone put working hours back on those days.

  1. 01

    Link the record first

Leave reaches the rota only for an employee record linked to the person's login. Check the badge at the top of their record.

  2. 02

    Approve the request

When the request is approved, every day of it becomes a published day off on Bookings › Schedule, at each place the person has been rostered (every place if they never have). A working shift already on those days is replaced.

  3. 03

Clients can no longer book them

A day off is not bookable, so the booking page stops offering that person on those days.

  4. 04

    Move visits booked earlier

Approval does not move or cancel visits that were booked before it. The request form showed how many there were; move them yourself in the diary on Bookings.

  5. 05

Leave stays as it is on the rota

Saving working hours on a leave day is refused, and copying a week does not carry leave forward. If the person is coming in after all, cancel the leave on Time off first.

  6. 06

Roster them again after a cancellation

Cancelling approved leave removes its days off from the rota, but the shifts it replaced do not come back by themselves. Put the person back on Bookings › Schedule for those days.

Common questions

Does the rota say what kind of leave it is?

To someone who may decide time off, a leave day on the rota names its kind, such as “Annual leave” or “Sick leave”. Everyone else reads “Time off”: a colleague’s sick leave is theirs.
