Moving from Altegio
Moving from Altegio or YCLIENTS without losing a client
Everything you need from Altegio comes out as spreadsheets, and the import screen has a profile that knows their column names. Nothing is written until you have seen the preview, and a whole batch can be undone afterwards.
Export from Altegio
Download clients, services with their prices and the visit history, as CSV or Excel files. Keep them as they are: the profile reads Altegio’s own column names, in Excel or in a CSV with semicolons and a Cyrillic encoding. A long history can go in as several files, one per period.
Open Settings → Import and export
Pick the kind of record the file holds, then choose Altegio / YCLIENTS under “Coming from”. The same profile reads YCLIENTS exports.
Check the preview
You see how many rows would be new, updated or skipped, and why a row has a problem. A column nobody recognised can be matched by hand, or left out.
Match the masters
A visits file names its masters. Match each name to a person in your team, or keep the name: those visits sit under the owner with the name beside them, and you hand them to a team member later from Settings → Data. Nobody is invited or added as a member.
Import, and undo if you need to
Import clients first, then services and prices, then visits, so each visit finds its client and its services. Press “Import these rows”. Each batch appears in the import history, where Undo removes the clients, services or visits it created — except what you have used since — so undo in the reverse order.
Add the bookings still ahead
Past visits arrive as history. Upcoming bookings are not imported: enter them in the diary, where the published rota checks each one, so nothing is booked twice.
Switch your clients over
Publish the rota, put the new booking link where the old one was, and keep Altegio open until the last old booking has passed.
Common questions
- Will duplicates appear if I import the same file twice?
- No. Rows that already exist are left alone unless you choose to update them from the file.
- Why are future bookings not imported?
- A booking that never went through the rota could double-book a person or a chair. Entering it in the diary checks it first.
- Can you do the import for us?
- If a file will not go in, press “Send this file to us” on the import screen; we open a case and come back to you.
